Cambodia Airports selected a suite of advanced passenger handling solutions from Damarel to help optimise their check-in operation.
Passenger traffic in Asian airports has seen dramatic growth over recent years and managing this in an efficient, cost-effective manner is a major challenge across the region.
Cambodia is no exception, and the rise of both tourist and business travellers to the country meant Cambodia Airports had to look to modern technology and systems to help them to continue to deliver a first class service to their customers. Air passenger traffic to the country increased by almost 20% in 2013 and Cambodia Airports have recently embarked on a project to double passenger terminal capacity before the end of 2015.
Cambodia Airports are using a range of Damarel’s passenger handling products at the country’s three international airports (Phnom Penh – PNH, Siem Reap – REP and Sihanouk – KOS) to help support this growth.
Damarel’s Babel CLF provides a consistent check-in GUI interface to 10 hosted carriers, including those on SABRE, SITA S-DCS and Travelsky, among others. The country’s new international airlines, Cambodian Angkor AIR, is one of those carriers using Babel CLF. To ensure that operations at the gate run as smoothly as possible, Cambodia Airports also chose to implement Embark, Damarel’s advanced automated boarding solution.
The common interface presented by both Babel and Embark LBA2 makes it much simpler for agents to switch between airlines, and dramatically reduces training overheads. For the Low Cost Carriers, CAMS adopted Damarel’s flagship Local DCS and LodeStone products to provide automated check-in, boarding and Weight and Balance.
These simple to learn yet powerful products ensure the non-hosted carriers receive all the benefits of automated check-in from this state-of-the-art installation.
