Backup DCS expansion in the Philippines

Following the successful rollout of B-DCS in Cebu International Airport, the transport hub for the vibrant wider region, Damarel is delighted to have completed a similar installation for Clark International Airport (CRK).

Clark is being developed as one of the biggest aviation complexes in Asia and is the International gateway to the Northern and Central Luzon areas of the Philippines – the 3rd most populated area of over 7,000 islands. B-DCS is seen as a strategic part of the airport development plan that will allow the ground handlers and their airlines to secure passenger operations against potential system failures.

Airlines suffer a direct financial impact when a DCS failure occurs in terms of lost revenue, ticket refunds and compensation to passengers, re-flighting and the cost of delays. The impact on reputation and knock-on effect for other airport users can be significant.

B-DCS makes sure passengers can still be processed smoothly and efficiently, with no impact on their experience at the airport. With full support for check-in hall and gate operations, the airport can continue to operate at full capacity both landside and airside.

As an added benefit, CRK will also offer Backup DCS as a Local DCS for any carriers that operate from the airport and who don’t have access to their own check-in and boarding systems.

Backup DCS ensures you continue to provide a quality experience to your passengers, comply with all security regulations and keep your reputation and your airport moving. We work closely with our users to develop a business continuity plan to suit them. It’s not just peace of mind, it makes perfect financial sense.
