Products![]() FIDSMonFlight Information Display SystemIntroduction and OverviewThe effective display of flight information is vital to the smooth running of a passenger terminal, yet FIDS technology is often expensive and complicated. Damarel's FIDSMon has been designed from the ground up to offer high quality information displays at a fraction of the price of other systems. Targeted at small to medium sized airports, FIDSMon uses a network of standard equipment to deliver the right information to the right location. The system is truly scalable, allowing the customer to tailor a solution that precisely fits their requirement. Main Benefits
Integration With Airport SystemsAlthough designed primarily as a stand-alone system, FIDSMon provides standardised interfaces to external systems for automatic updates. These updates may be generated by handling agents, ATC or other airport systems, and can be configured to update displays without manual intervention. In addition, FIDSMon is very tightly integrated with FiND, Damarel's Flight Operational Database, allowing many FIDSMon updates to be automated from airport feeds and SITA messages for simple, low maintenance operation. FeaturesFIDSMon has all the features you require from a modern system, including:
FIDSMon also supports advertising slots, inserting either static or full motion video adverts between updates to allow the customer to generate revenue from prime advertising space. Internet AccessThe modern airport increasingly offers access to flight information to people across the Internet. FIDSMon supports external interfaces to web servers to allow pages to be delivered quickly to wherever they are needed, increasing the audience and potentially reducing terminal congestion. TechnicalFIDSMon operates as a distributed application on a PC based Local Area Network hardware platform installed at the airport. Application servers form the heart of the system, with all communications with remote devices taking place via the industry standard TCP/IP protocol. For security and performance, an Oracle® 9i database is used to store all flight information and configuration data. Other RDBMS packages may be used if required. Optional Web Servers, running Microsoft® Windows 2000 and IIS can be supplied for browser displays.
