To address this, Thai Airways has selected Damarel’s class-leading Babel and Embark products for use at both check-in counters and boarding gates, allowing the use of an airline’s native DCS while keeping a common agent interface.

Damarel’s Babel CLF provides a modern GUI to the different airline DCSs through a Window’s style interface consisting of menus, push buttons and form fill templates. By adopting Babel, Thai Airways will dramatically reduce the amount of DCS training an agent requires and speed check-in. Agents will also be able to comfortably operate multiple DCSs, making staff rostering and scheduling a much simpler task.

At the departure gate, Damarel’s Embark will be used to automate passenger boarding, speeding up the handling process, increasing accuracy and helping meet on-time departure times. With support for 2D barcodes and legacy ATB2 magnetic stripe, Embark provides a single, common interface for all carriers regardless of which DCS is being used.

The project is due to run for five years with Babel and Embark being rolled out for airlines in a phased approach.
