In conjunction with IER, Damarel recently ran a successful self-scanning trial at Manchester International. By integrating Vanguard with the IER QBG, passengers were able to scan their own documents at Outbound Control Points. Vanguard performs all the checks necessary to ensure that the document is valid, and unique, and controls access airside by means of the QBG automated gate.

The solution has proved to be very popular, automating what had been a manual task and helping improve passenger flow. MAN now plan to add 16 more QBG positions to roll the solution out around the airport.
