L-DCS is running live on SITA CUTE at LGW for top ground handler Aviance. This is the fourth airport where Aviance have chosen the power and flexibility of L-DCS for the handling of charter, low cost and regional carriers. In a fiercely competitive market, L-DCS delivers all the benefits of automated check-in while dramatically reducing costs.
 
In common with Leeds Bradford, the system operates from a newly opened data centre in Newcastle. The L-DCS database for all Aviance airports is based on an Oracle server cluster at the facility, connected across the corporate WAN to all Aviance's nationwide operations. This facility allows communications links to external systems such as CUBES and Type B Messaging to be shared, thus eliminating the costs associated with setting up these links at individual airports.

Making good use of the flexibility offered by the centralisation of data, Aviance now perform many of their routine maintenance functions, such as flight and seat map editing for their out stations, from their DCS Support Centre in Manchester.
