| L-DCS Live at Durham Tees Valley |

Durham Tees Valley became the 10th UK airport to make use of L-DCS when it went live on 02Apr for Aviance. This is the first UltraCUSE site to run L-DCS and it is also the 6th airport to be centrally hosted from Aviance's data centre. L-DCS for all Aviance sites is centrally managed from their DCS Help Desk in Manchester. Durham Tees Valley is one of the first UK airports to rely fully on IATA compliant 2D bar codes with no ATB2 (magnetic stripe) support. L-DCS encodes boarding passes with PDF417 2D bar codes at check-in using Vidtronix boarding pass printers and reads them at the boarding gate with 2D bar code readers. L-DCS provides stand alone check-in and boarding systems, reducing costs, speeding the boarding process and providing security, on any major platform. L-DCS also has add-on functionality to support the self check-in revolution, providing facilities for both Web and kiosk check-in.
