In our fast paced world there is an ever increasing need for efficient air travel whether it is for business or leisure. The demanding nature of the industry increasingly puts pressure on airports to move passengers smoothly through the terminals and onto or off of  flights as quickly and competently as possible.  Exeter Airport has found a solution using Damarel’s products.

Exeter Airport  has been using Damarel’s Flight Information and Display System (FIDS) successfully for a number of years.  To keep pace with the ever increasing demands made on this small airport, Exeter have decide to expands their current set-up to include more overhead, check-in and baggage displays in both the arrivals and departures areas.

Throughout the check-in area, the new overhead displays will guide passengers to the correct desks with clearly displayed signage indicating the airline logo, flight number and destination. The individual check-in agents can easily control and change the signage using the AuRA common use workstations already on their desktops, thereby minimising the amount of additional equipment required.

For arriving passengers, the Baggage Belt Displays above each carousel indicate which flight's luggage is to be delivered to each belt. The signage can be controlled either from the airside baggage loading area or from the terminal control office.

Through Damarel's dynamic FIDS installation, Exeter now has a full complement of information channels available to passengers both before and after arrival at the airport:

► Automatically updated CEEFAX pages.

► Links to the airport telephone voice announcement system.

► Live information feeds on the airport's website, and

► A full range of public information displays around the terminal.

The FIDS at Exeter Airport is linked with another of Damarel's products, FiNDnet. FiNDnet acts as the live operational database, providing information feeds for the other systems and centralising all the flight movement information for the airport.
