Damarel has an excellent long-standing relationship with Exeter International Airport, having provided their front-of-house systems, operational tools and system integration services for many years.

Our systems have enabled Exeter to successfully manage their growth, maximise the use of their resources and capitalise on the boom in air travel. 

We were therefore proud to be given the opportunity to continue our collaboration with Exeter when we were asked to help with their major systems upgrade. 

The revamp includes almost the entire IT systems infrastructure, from the CUTE platform through to the Operational Database and FIDS and ensures that Exeter is able to keep delivering high quality services using the latest in Damarel products.  

The addition of Damarel’s Local DCS also brings in the latest technology and standards available to the industry. Exeter has also embraced the industry move to low-cost devices, going fully 2DBC for both check-in and gates. For home check-in passengers, Damarel’s Vanguard system continues to provide automated screening at the outbound security control points, enhancing security and providing valuable management information.

As the platform for all other systems, the newest generation of Damarel’s AuRA Pro Common Use system will provide the latest in security and device handling, enabling initiatives such as the use of low cost GPPs at check-in. At the gate, Exeter has adopted Embark, Damarel’s automated boarding solution for hosted carriers, which will help speed passengers on their way and help ensure on-time departures.

Damarel’s Local Departure Control System, L-DCS will streamline operations and improve service for Exeter’spoint-to-point charter and low cost carriers.  L-DCS operates in conjunction with LodeStone, the fully featured, integrated weight and balance system from Damarel, ensuring that Exeter can provide an all-round service to all of their customers. With the introduction of Embark, L-DCS and Lodestone, along with the upgrade of existing systems (AuRA, Babel, Vanguard), Exeter now has a 100% industry compliant suite of tools for passenger handling.

Exeter International Airport

For the flight operations and public Flight Information Display System (FIDS), Damarel’s FiNDnet Operational Database and FIDS modules are replacing the current legacy FiND system.  The upgrade of these modules brings feature enhancements across the operation, from passenger concourses to airside lounges.  The fully integrated intelligent displays systems range from 23” - 46” in size and provide more control and sharper images, as well as the opportunity to advertise across all areas of the airport, including check-in desks, boarding gates and baggage belts. 

This extensive refit will ensure that Exeter continues to deliver a first class service to airlines and passengers alike, helping to consolidate their position as a vibrant regional airport and putting in place all the tools required for continued, prosperous growth.
