Damarel has recently won an exciting contract for Ireland's West Airport, Knock (NOC), where we will be installing 3 of our leading products, Lodestone, L-DCS and AuRA which will greatly help in automating some of the manual check-in operations that the airport currently undertakes.

Ireland West Airport, Knock is an award winning, international airport.  Established in the 1980's and coming from humble beginnings, NOC has grown into a thriving hub, serving both local and international travellers.  Passengers can fly from NOC to over 20 destinations including Austria, Croatia and Portugal, as well as being able to undertake pilgrimages to holy landmarks such as Knock Shrine, Lourdes and Medjugorje.

Whilst offering many exciting flight destinations and chartered flights, the airport operated a manual check-in system, which often meant a lot of unnecessary paperwork, delay and frustration. After assessing airport needs Damarel came up with a solution, in the form of two of our leading products, L-DCS and LodeStone. These two innovative products enable airport operations to run smoothly and eliminate the need for many of the manual processes that exist between check-in and boarding the flight.

The first of the three products, L-DCS, is an advanced, feature packed, Departure Control System with full check-in and boarding capabilities, enabling NOC to streamline and speed up their check-in processes. L-DCS also offers fast bag drop automation, web and CUSS kiosk check-in, whilst supporting a fully 2D barcode solution for check-in and boarding.

The second of the products is LodeStone, an integrated, fully featured Weight and Balance system for passenger aircraft. LodeStone provides loading crew and flight staff with invaluable, up to the minute information and accurate planning, thereby providing a complete flight handling solution.

L-DCS and Lodestone integrate perfectly and operating the two systems together offers additional benefits, such as the ability for L-DCS to transmit all of its data to the Lodestone system in real time, thereby ensuring that Lodestone is producing the very latest, up to date information available from the check-in desk.  This feature totally eliminates the need for manually re-keying of data as the information transmitted between the two systems is always completely in-step.

Finally, Damarel will install AuRA the basic platform to host all of the applications. AuRA is Damarel's entry level CUTE system designed for smaller regional airports, providing all of the features required for security and multiple system access without the traditional overheads associated with these systems.

In addition, Damarel will undertake on-site training and installation as well as cut-over support during the transition to ensure that NOC can continue its operations during the change from manual to automated operations.
