Aviance, a leading UK handling agent and part of the Go Ahead Group, are long term users of the FiNDnet Suite of operational tools for handling agents.

The FiNDnet suite consists of a number of operational tools for automating the modern ground handling operation:

  • FiNDnet - the advanced Operational Database which centralises all flight movement information, automating many tasks including Type B messaging and updating airport systems.
  • CCS - Company Charge Screens. Enables the electronic capture and processing of flight service details, allowing rechargeable items to be instantly captured.
  • Focus - Flight Costing System. Provides automated billing for flight turnaround services based on captured charge data.

Aviance adopted the suite as a standard set of operational tools for their airport ground handling operations, allowing them to standardise on the systems used and make maximum use of the benefits that the suite brings.

With operations in over 15 UK airports, including some of the largest and busiest such as London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Birmingham International, Aviance have adopted the centralised approach, installing the core FiNDnet suite hardware in their corporate data centre and connecting the site across the WAN.

In doing this, Aviance have maximised the effective use of the hardware by sharing it among stations, and also enabled much simpler rollouts as new stations are brought online, whatever their size.

The charges captured by CCS are fed back to the central accounts department, where they are collated quickly and accurately using Focus, which produces automated bills based on individual contract rules set up for each carrier. Focus also then hands of the charging data in a structured format to the corporate accounts system, allowing a smooth flow of information from the point at which a chargeable srvice is captured all the way through to the back-end accounts.
